The Eurasian Development Bank forecasts continued wage growth in Belarus in 2025, BelTA learned from the EDB weekly macro review.
In January 2025, real wages in Belarus rose by 13.5% after growing by 12.5% in December 2024. In the public sector, wages grew by 13%, facilitated by a 6.7% increase in the basic pay rate and additional allowances for certain categories of public sector workers. In the non-budget sector, wages rose in all industries, particularly in construction (by 18.8%), agriculture (by 17.5%), and trade (by 15%).
"Further wage growth is expected amid high competition for personnel and the budgeted increase in wages in the public sector," the EDB noted.
