The ethno-confessional situation is stable in the region which is characterized by inter-religious peace and tolerance in respect to the believers of various faiths. There are 5 religious confessions in the region. They include 13 religious communities:

- 7 Orthodox;
- 1 Roman-Catholic;
- 2 Evangelical;
- 2 Baptist;
- 1 community of the Seventh Day Adventists.

There is the Convent of the Patronage of the Mother of God in the town of Tolochin.
